Drink Choice app for iPhone and iPad

Welcome to the Drink Choice app for people with intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities and/or autism. Drink Choice brings together spoken word, text, symbol, photo and introduces a new concept, called Symto™; the bridge between learning how to understand a symbol from the level of a photo. This App now allows a drink choice to be tailor made, therefore more inclusive and promoting a real choice.

This App helps you as a carer to ask the question, what drink would you like? Then you can use the options to help promote a real choice. This allows a drink break in a care activity to become an opportunity to communicate, promote independence, develop vocabulary and promote control.

Personalise the Drink Choice App for a person-centred, tailor made experience. Record your own voice, therefore using a local, regional accent which may be easier understood than the default voice.

Drink Choice App can become a learning sensory experience by using real objects like a cold and hot drink touching the skin combined with the photo options.

The end user will make a choice, be able to communicate and learn through repetition at their own pace. Using simple interactions: TAP or Point at the screen. Each tap made helps give an understanding of cause-and-effect. Supporting people to progress all the way from photos to words.
